Giyalung Guluman (Smart Dish) is a decommissioned 18-metre radio astronomy telescope at CSIRO’s Parkes Observatory in Wiradjuri Country, Central Western New South Wales. Also known as the Kennedy Antenna, it is one of three dishes at this site. The other two are the 64-metre Murriyang and the 12-metre Giyalung Miil (Smart Eye). All three were given Wiradjuri names in 2020.

[The decommissioned Kennedy Antenna] was assembled at our Fleurs Radio Telescope Site, Penrith, NSW, in 1960, and moved to Parkes in 1963. It started operating in 1965. The antenna, when linked to the 64-meter antenna, was pivotal in early work to determine the size and brightness of radio sources in the sky. CSIRO operated the Fleurs field station from 1954 to 1963. The Chris Cross , with two arms of 32 parabolic 5.8-m diameter dishes, was complemented with the addition of 18-m Kennedy antenna at the eastern end of the E-W arm. These formed the Fleurs Compound Interferometer that operated at 1420 MHz with an instantaneous 1 degree x 1.5 arc-minute fan beam. … When Fleurs was tranferred to the University of Sydney in 1963, the Kennedy antenna was moved to Parkes. … The Kennedy antenna was was given the Wiradjuri name Giyalung Guluman , meaning ‘Smart Dish’, in 2020.
